Dr Simon Tucker has been a specialist in the field of dermatology for over 18 years, studying at the University of Manchester and relocating to Cairns in October 2009.  At Cairns Skin Centre Dr Tucker consults on all aspects of dermatology with great success, treating:

• acne
• inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis using systemic treatments, including biologics where necessary
• investigation of potential contact allergies relevant to eczema with patch testing

With a special interest in the early diagnosis and management of skin cancer, Dr Tucker offers : 

• full skin checks
• skin cancer removal
• treatment of melanoma with the least invasive approach and minimal scarring (particularly with facial areas such as on the nose, lips and ears

Dr Tucker has recently completed a Fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery in Perth allowing him to surgically treat more complex facial skin cancers with a cure rate approaching 99% first time and minimising damage to surrounding healthy skin. This service has never before been available in Cairns.

Since 2017 Dr Tucker has worked as a diagnosing Dermatologist with MoleMap, a highly accurate means of identifying melanoma in its earliest stages via serial, very high quality, dermoscopic imaging of patients’ moles, diagnosing more than 155,000 moles in 2018.
